We all know that there are a lot of pros and cons of being a freelancer and being working as 9 to 5 job. Most people switched working as freelancer right after working a day job so we all know the difference but the most important factor is that it's really hard to be a productive to being as freelancer rather then working as day job.

Let's first have a look on pros and cons of being a freelancer and working on a 9 to 5 day job:


Pros of being Freelancer - 

  1. You can work anytime
  2. You're your own boss
  3. You get better income
  4. You get better opportunities
  5. You don't need to work on deadlines
  6. You don't need to stick on day job schedule
  7. You can work anywhere / anytime you want
  8. You get the 100% credit of your completed job

Cons of being Freelancer - 

  1. You get lazy to early
  2. Your income is depended on how many projects you've
  3. A lofs of distractions
  4. Your friend, family, loved ones can join you anytime
  5. Sometimes, you've a lot of work to do, sometimes you don't
  6. You'll only get paid if you've work to do
  7. No compensation
  8. No matter you're 



All these pros and cons are came from my personal experience and some of the most important factors are sometimes you've good work & earnings and sometimes you don't, you'll have to finish the work before the deadlines no matter you're physically well or not, you'll always have to manage your schedule no matter how you stick with a plan etc.



As per my experience, below are the tips to being productive as a stay at Home Freelancer and how to stay focused and productive as a full-time freelancer - 

(1) Schedule: 

The most important thing to being as a freelancer is, schedule. As per my experience, it's impossible to stick with a day plan no matter how easy day plan you've prepared. So instead of preparing another things into your schedule such as exercise etc, just make your schedule only for work for example; I try every morning that I start work at 8 or 9 AM in the morning. 

(2) Getting Fresh:

Its also important to being a fresh when you start work then you should be fresh at that time. Most of us think that we don't need to go anywhere so we can take a bath anytime later, we can fresh anytime later. But, it's important that before we start the work, we should properly get fresh and only start the work after taking bath, taking breakfast and be fresh with everything. 

(3) Focus: 

Instead of thinking about when you should get coffee, when you should eat etc. just focus on that you've to start the work around 8 or 9 AM in the morning. So before you start the work, take everything with you all together such as coffee etc. and start the work right away and don't waste your time in between with making a coffee or looking for something to eat etc. 

(4) Intervals: 

I read about this everywhere that you should take intervals in between the work to stay focus on the work. But i don't think that we should waste our time for taking intervals again and again. According to my experience, we shouldn't take intervals unless we actually need it. If i talk about myself, I only take the interval when I stuck on something, when I can't think of further. This way, you would only take interval once or twice during the whole day except lunch time. 

(5) Get Your System Ready Before Work:

No matter what system / PC / laptop you use, it'll start getting slow after the time so it's also important that your system is working smoothly. But, it can get you in trouble if your system get slow or need re-start or something in between the work. So, make sure when you start doing work, clean your system such as temporary files, prefetch data etc. It's good to use Cc-cleaner https://www.ccleaner.com/ for any kind of your system. 

(6) Other Tips:

There can be a lots of another tips and tricks for being a freelancer to working at home but above were the main ones. There can be also more of it: 
  1. Exercise at early morning 
  2. Yoga's
  3. Listing music before starting the work or during the work
  4. Get some time for your professional career/profile once in a day instead of only working on your projects
